PmWiki

PmWiki is a wiki-based system for collaborative creation and maintenance of websites.

PmWiki pages look and act like normal web pages, except they have an “Edit” link that makes it easy to modify existing pages and add new pages into the website, using basic editing rules. You do not need to know or use any HTML or CSS. Page editing can be left open to the public or restricted to small groups of authors.

Notes

What next?

Stay up to date with releases, and keep your server secure!

Legacy release

If your MediaWiki installation is heavily modified, it may be difficult to incorporate the latest official changes/updates to MediaWiki. To support such users, we maintain old branches of our code for up to a year.

Development releases

If you want to run on the latest development (i.e. alpha) version, you either have to use Git or download a snapshot by clicking on this link. See also Nightlies for nightly builds.

  • There are some test wikis where you can see last code in action
  • Project:Test reports is where to report bugs and give feedback about such unstable releases (which often have minor temporary problems, which are quickly fixed… but need to be found first)

Old releases

You can find tar balls (*.tar.gz) of all versions of MediaWiki back to February 2007 in the MediaWiki download archives

To browse, including even older versions, see the tags, of the Git repository.
